The Head of the Mechanical Engineering Division reports to the Director of DCM, and is a member of the Management Team. The postholder shall provide competent engineering support to ongoing and future DCM Programmes, be responsible for the management of activities, technical facilities and laboratories as well as technical competences of the Mechanical Engineering Division, which covers mechanical systems including structures, mechanisms, propulsion and electro-optical payloads. Proactive coordination with other Divisions of DCM is essential. The objective is to optimise the Unit efficiency and provide support where the competence of the Mechanical Engineering Division can be brought to bear. ? Assist the Director of DCM, as a member of the Management Team, participating in the decision making process on all major activities covered by this Business Unit within ELECNOR DEIMOS Group
? Hold full technical responsibility over the following technical domains:
o Structures and Thermal, covering engineering and technologies for structural design and verification, manufacturing, structural dynamics, thermal analysis and verification with inter-disciplinary analysis in the mechanical domain;
o Mechanics and Mechatronics, covering engineering and technologies in the domain of analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems, also in combination with electronics, computer engineering and control;
o Propulsion and Thermodynamics, covering engineering and technologies for propulsion for spacecraft (covering chemical and electrical propulsion technologies) and other thermodynamics of spacecraft and its environment;
o Optics, covering engineering and technologies for the specification, design, procurement, test, verification and calibration of electro-optical payloads;
? Supervise and provide support for system engineering in AIT-AIV program definition and implementation, launch vehicle interface and flight operations constraints and procedures.
? Take an active role in the selection, development and training of engineers with a view to create and maintain within DCM a high level of competence for the engineering disciplines above.
? Take an active role in interacting with Projects through technical reviews, ITT activities, in orbit performance reviews, development of lessons learnt, engineering documentation, standards and quality assurance.

| University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline A minimum of five years of professional experience in relevant positions, together with a proven experience in space project management. Fluent in English and Spanish. Knowledge of other common European languages (French, German, Italian) shall be an asset. |
